A $100 million project to expand Baptist Hospital’s Surgery Center and Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute is nearing completion. Guests got a sneak peak at the facilities during tours offered at a reception hosted by Baptist Hospital executives and physicians.

Technology, teaching and collaboration of multiple medical disciplines will come together in the facilities, scheduled to be fully operational later this summer. Here are some of the highlights of this expansion of innovation at Baptist Health South Florida.

Baptist Hospital Surgery Center:

  • Six additional operating rooms for neuroscience, cardiac, vascular and robotic surgery.
  • An intraoperative MRI that will move between two dedicated operating rooms, allowing neurosurgeons to treat complex brain tumors with real-time, image-guided surgery – the first in Miami.
  • Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute:

  • Four state-of-the-art interventional procedure suites.
  • Enlarged gallery viewing area for greater teaching and learning opportunities.
  • New programs and centers will include a National Center for Aneurysm Therapy, Center for Advanced Endovascular Therapies, Center of Structural Heart Therapy and Advanced Arryhthmia Therapy Center.
  • The Baptist Health South Florida News Team was there to tour the new facilities. Watch it now.
