What do Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook, Marcus Lemonis, star of CNBC’s The Profit, Andy Stanley, leadership author and pastor, and Immaculee Ilibagiza, best-selling author and advocate for peace and forgiveness, have in common? They are among those headlining this year’s Global Leadership Summit, “Everyone Has Influence,” being held August 10-11.

Organized by the Willow Creek Community Church, the event is simulcast from Illinois to 600 locations around the world to reach more than 400,000 people. In South Florida, the Global Leadership Summit is being broadcast at Christ Journey Church in Coral Gables, Christ Journey Church in Kendall and at Island Community Church in Islamorada.

Summit sessions are designed to inspire leaders to find and follow their grand vision to achieve professional and personal growth. In addition to the renowned keynote speakers, other inspirational presenters will offer their insight to being a successful leader. Their talks will also include practical skills that can be put into practice right away. Past attendees say the Summit helped them improve teamwork, job satisfaction, productivity and become a better leader.

The heart of the Global Leadership Summit is servant leadership – the cultivation of a skilled humility that harnesses excellence in the service of the greater good, according to Rev. Guillermo Escalona, director of Pastoral Care at Miami Cancer Institute, who coordinates Baptist Health’s support of the Summit locally.

“The Summit offers all of us an opportunity to be equipped and inspired by some of the very best in their fields, so that we may positively impact everyone and everything in our circles of influence while realizing the value of integrating all of our resources – spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional and material – for self-care and building the beloved community until true success is affirmed,” said Rev. Escalona. “Baptist Health gladly sponsors this event locally because it exemplifies the core of our faith-based mission and commitment to be a healing presence in our society.”
