Miami Dolphins Deliver Baskets of Hope at Baptist Children’s Hospital (Video)

Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey and guard Issac Asiata, along with Dolphins cheerleaders Agustina and Jennifer, mascot T.D. and Miami Dolphins Women’s Organization Member Jennifer Gase, presented patients at Baptist Children Hospital today with Baskets of Hope.

Filled with age- and gender- appropriate toys, games, stuffed animals, books, movies, craft and coloring materials, gift cards and other items, the baskets are meant to uplift and give hope to children diagnosed with cancer and other serious illnesses.

The players, cheerleaders, mascot and other team representatives spent time visiting and speaking with hospitalized children and their parents. They posed for pictures and signed autographs.

“This is all about the kids,” Dolphins offensive guard Issac Asiata said. “When they’re excited and happy we know it’s time well spent giving back to the community.”

Created in 1995, Baskets of Hope partners with the National Football League (NFL) to support sick children and their families through its more than 20 branches across the country.

The Miami Dolphins Women’s Organization encourages the spirit of giving back to the community through various charitable and community service projects. Its members are the wives and significant others of the team who participate in various charitable activities.
