Mariners Hospital Starts Offering Care After Irma

Mariners Hospital of Baptist Health South Florida in Tavernier has begun offering services to the community following mandatory evacuations late last week. Hurricane Irma made landfall along the lower keys Sept. 10.

A 25-bed, critical access hospital founded in 1962, Mariners shut its doors for the first time ahead of Irma.

As the only hospital in the Upper Keys, it provides a critical link to the local residents returning and rebuilding after the storm. With many of the hospital’s own resources facing recovery challenges, Mariners is pulling resources all across Baptist Health South Florida to keep delivering critical services to the Keys community.
