Baptist Health Honored as One of the 2015 ‘World’s Most Ethical Companies’
Baptist Health South Florida has been named as one of the 2015 World’s Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere Institute. It marks the fifth straight year that Baptist Health has received this honor.
“We are most proud to maintain a culture of integrity and high ethical standards across our organization,” said Brian E. Keeley, president and chief executive officer of Baptist Health. “We are committed to doing the right thing for our employees, our patients and the communities we serve.”
The Ethisphere Institute is an independent research center that promotes best practices in corporate ethics and governance.
Baptist Health’s focus on ethical behavior includes a detailed code of ethics covering standards and values and outlining specific regulations and procedures, a strict conflict of interest policy and a vendor relations policy. It has a Corporate Compliance Program, in place for 17 years, with a chief compliance officer who reports directly to the board of directors.
George Foyo, executive vice president and chief administrative officer said: “We start with a culture of values including integrity, trust and honesty. We instill them in our employees and they are reflected in the actions they take on a daily basis.”
He added, “decisions are made putting the patient above all else, that is paramount.”
