Baptist Health South Florida Selects Cerner for Enterprise-Wide Health IT System
Cerner, a global leader in health care technology, was selected by Baptist Health South Florida, a leading health care organization in the region, to implement Cerner Millennium® and HealtheIntentSM across all of the system’s hospitals, physician offices and outpatient locations.
Cerner’s electronic health record (EHR) system and comprehensive population health management platform will enhance the organization’s existing Cerner Soarian® Financials revenue cycle management solutions, providing Baptist Health with an integrated, enterprise-wide health information technology (IT) system.
“With the responsibility for more than 1 million patient visits each year and nearly 17,000 employees, it is essential that we have industry-leading health IT solutions to manage care,” said Ralph Lawson, executive vice president and chief financial officer, Baptist Health South Florida. “Cerner’s sophisticated integrated experience across the enterprise, from the EHR to financial and population health management solutions will propel Baptist Health toward our goal of improving care coordination and reducing the cost of care.”
Cerner’s interoperability capabilities also enable the system to share health records with outside health organizations regionally and nationally.
”Baptist Health is recognized as a national leader in quality, safety and consistently high patient satisfaction,” said Brian E. Keeley, president and chief executive officer, Baptist Health South Florida. “Cerner expertise will also help us optimize the physician experience to manage quality of care, which will ultimately support our continuing efforts to improve the patient experience.”
Cerner will support Baptist Health’s rapid expansion across its region, including the Caribbean and Latin America.
“We are honored that this nationally recognized health system has selected Cerner as its enterprise solution partner,” said Neal Patterson, chairman of the board and chief executive officer, Cerner. “Baptist Health South Florida is focused on providing high-quality, patient-centered care – a priority that we share here at Cerner – and we look forward to furthering their commitment to excellence.”
