Mayda Antun, M.D., Named Baptist Health Quality Network Medical Director of Network Performance and Medical Management
Mayda Antun, M.D., has been named medical director of Network Performance and Medical Management for Baptist Health Quality Network, a clinically integrated network that is part of Baptist Health South Florida. A physician-led organization consisting of more than 1,000 of the region’s top healthcare providers, the network strives to improve the quality and reduce the cost of healthcare.
Dr. Antun has more than three decades of experience in the managed care industry, most recently as Humana’s vice president and chief medical officer for its CarePlus Health Plans. She also held leadership positions with its Concentra Primary Care and CAC-Florida Medical Centers lines, and with other managed care companies including Neighborhood Health Partnership, Beacon Health Plans and United Health Care of Florida.
At Baptist Health Quality Network, she will be responsible for the clinical programs development as well as implementation and monitoring of the network’s performance metrics.
Dr. Antun received her medical degree from Instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. She completed an internal medicine residency at Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, N.Y., and endocrinology and metabolism fellowships at Northport V.A. Medical Center in Northport, N.Y., and at State University of New York at Stony Brook. She also has a master’s degree in business administration with a specialization in healthcare administration from the University of Miami and is a graduate of the Population Health Certificate Program sponsored by Jefferson School of Population Health, Philadelphia.
