Marathon, FL – October 18, 2019 – Natalie Matyas, R.N., who has been a nurse at Fishermen’s Community Hospital for five years, spent the day with students from Marathon High School. This was her first time taking part in a Day in the Life of a Nurse™. The group toured the hospital and spent time with nurses and health professionals.

“I didn’t know there were so many different departments and nurses at the hospital,” said Kaleigh Brown, a senior at the school.

When asked if meeting the nurses in different departments helped them see what kind of nurse they would like to be, Camryn Woodall, a junior, said: “It helped me become more confident in my decision to become an Emergency Room nurse. I want to help people.”

Baptist Health South Florida has taken part in a Day in the Life of a Nurse™ for several years.
