Dr. Cindy Mitch-Gomez and Dr. Paul Gipps Join Baptist Health Primary Care Pinecrest Office

MIAMI, FL – March 14, 2017 — Baptist Health Primary Care is pleased to announce the addition of two physicians to its new Pinecrest office, located at 13101 South Dixie Hwy., Suite 400. Family medicine physicians Cindy Mitch-Gomez, M.D., and geriatric physician Paul Gipps, M.D., have joined the experts at Baptist Health Medical Group, an organization of more than 180 physicians, part of Baptist Health South Florida.

Both physicians specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of health issues, including simple and complex health conditions, chronic disease management, minor emergencies, urgent care and the coordination of specialty care. They also provide preventive care, including routine checkups, health-risk assessments, immunizations, screening tests and healthy lifestyle counseling.

Dr. Mitch-Gomez is board-certified in family medicine and has more than 25 years of experience treating patients. Her areas of specialty include women’s health and eating disorders. She earned her medical degree at McGill University in Montreal, and completed a residency in family medicine at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, where she served as chief resident. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Gipps is board-certified in geriatric medicine and internal medicine and focuses on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and disability in older adults. He provides comprehensive care that addresses the unique health needs of the elderly, including chronic disorders, pain, nutritional problems, skin ailments, cognitive loss, memory impairment, adverse medication effects, and immobility and balance issues. This type of focused care helps patients maintain their independence and quality of life. Dr. Gipps earned his medical degree at Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine and primary care at Tufts University, St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston, followed by a fellowship in geriatrics at the University of Florida Health in Gainesville. Dr. Gipps will also be seeing patients at the Cutler Bay office, located at 19225 SW 87 Avenue, inside the East Ridge community.
