Community Service, Workplace Engagement Featured at Global Leadership Summit

A prescription for well-being was outlined at the Global Leadership Summit 2015, an annual event that offers detailed instructions for those seeking personal and professional growth.

“We only succeed by helping each other,” said Jim Collins, best-selling author of Good to Great, and a keynote speaker at the two-day event. “It’s difficult to have a meaningful life without meaningful work.”

And meaningful work is linked to community service, Mr. Collins told the audience at the Global Leadership Summit 2015. The annual event, organized by the Willow Creek Community Church, is broadcast from Illinois to different regional and global hubs, including Christ Journey Church in Coral Gables. Baptist Health is a local supporter of the event.

In Coral Gables, a crowd of 400 guests filled Christ Journey Church to hear broadcast presentations from:

Brian E. Keeley, president and CEO of Baptist Health South Florida, also addressed the local audience. Mr. Keeley praised the roster of speakers and called the annual event “one of the best” speaker series he has attended. The Global Leadership Summit, he says, offers a message of personal growth, leadership and accountability that is consistent with Baptist Health’s mission.

“At Baptist Health, we have a faith-based mission to improve the health and wellness of the communities we serve,” Mr. Keeley said.

The two-day annual leadership event delivers measurable results, according to an independent survey of attendees in the 2014 Global Leadership Summit. Improvements in teamwork, job satisfaction and productivity were reported by 83 percent of the attendees, the survey shows.

This year’s event attracted a crowd of more than 150,000 participants from 120 locations around the world who gathered to hear insights about leadership, faith and communications. The program was broadcast to more than 300 locations in North America.
