While a lot of people were wrapping up New Year celebrations, the nurses and doctors at Baptist Hospital [1] prepared to welcome the first baby born there in 2016.
Alaina Star Epps is the first baby born at a Baptist Health Hospital in 2016. Mother Cordelia Riggins delivered her Friday, January 1, 2:57 a.m., at the hospital’s Family Birth Place [2]. The healthy baby girl was born measuring 8 pounds, 8 ounces and 22.45 inches. Cynthia Bradley, M.D. [3], was the attending obstetrician.
Baby Alaina, mother, father Larry Epps and 16-year old big sister Ashley were doing great later that morning when the Baptist Health South Florida News Team and several local TV stations visited.
